Omar: Mammoth crowd welcome Adamawa ADC Guber Candidate, says Agriculture, Security, Economy top priority in his agenda - TG News

Thousands of African Democratic Congress (ADC) loyalists stormed Aliyu Mustapha international airport, defied the morning downpour and welcomed Amb (Engr) Omar Suleiman who is well known as Omarana. Omorana got the rousing welcome as the gubernatorial candidate of the party for the coming l 2027 general elections and assured them of economy liberation if voted into office. Omorana pledged to transform the state’s agricultural sector through modern farming practices, improved rural infrastructure, and increased support for farmers if elected governor. Speaking at a press conference held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Press Centre in Yola on Saturday, the former Nigerian Ambassador described Adamawa as an agrarian state with vast fertile land capable of driving economic growth and food security. He said his administration would engage agricultural experts to train farmers on modern farming techniques while ensuring the timely distribution of subsidised fertilisers to boost productivity. According to him, improving rural roads would also be a priority to ease the transportation of farm produce from rural communities to markets. On security, Engr. Omarana said his administration would work closely with security agencies to protect lives and property across the state, describing security as the foundation for sustainable development. He also promised to revitalise the sports sector by investing in youth development programmes and creating opportunities for talented young people to excel in various sporting activities. The ADC governorship candidate said engaging youths in sports would help reduce unemployment, drug abuse, and other forms of social vices. Addressing concerns over the leadership of the ADC, Omarana dismissed claims that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had failed to recognise the party’s leadership. He maintained that the commission had recognised the party’s national leadership under Senator David Mark and urged supporters to disregard contrary reports. Calling on the people of Adamawa State to support the ADC in the 2027 general elections, Omarana said the party remained united and committed to providing purposeful and inclusive leadership. He expressed confidence that the ADC would emerge victorious in the 2027 polls and thanked residents of the state for their continued support, urging them to remain steadfast in their commitment to the people📰 Get Latest News UpdatesJoin our Telegram group and receive breaking and trending news updates directly on your phone.
