Carlsberg prepares India unit for stock market debut

Danish brewer Carlsberg Group has confidentially filed draft papers with the SEBI for the proposed IPO of its Indian subsidiary, marking a key step towards listing the business on Indian stock exchanges. New Updatecarlsberg-india-reportedly-eyes-usd-700-million-ipo-2026-06-09-15-08-04Danish brewer Carlsberg Group has confidentially filed draft papers with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for the proposed initial public offering (IPO) of its Indian subsidiary, marking a key step towards listing the business on Indian stock exchanges. The company said the progress and timing of the IPO will depend on regulatory approvals and prevailing market conditions. According to reports, the proposed IPO could raise up to US$700 million (around Rs 6,600 crore) through a secondary share sale by the Danish brewer, with the listing expected later this year. Kotak Mahindra Capital, the Indian units of JPMorgan Chase and Citigroup, are advising on the transaction, although the size, structure and timing of the offering remain subject to change. Carlsberg entered the Indian market in 2007 and has grown into the country's second-largest brewer with an estimated 22 per cent market share. The proposed listing comes amid a strong pipeline of Indian IPOs, with several large domestic and multinational companies preparing to tap the capital markets.
