It includes early model access, computing power, secure environments, and direct communication lines with security teams of AI laboratories. The BPI states that Bitcoin Core developers can be limited by public AI guardrails, which means they might have to rely on weaker open-weight models. Another important fact mentioned in the letter is that Bitcoin secures more than $1 trillion alone. The BPI also warned that “Without dedicated access programs, defenders may lack the tools needed to keep pace with evolving threats. ”Why Is Frontier AI Important for Bitcoin AI Developers?According toBPI, frontier AI capabilities make it possible to effectively search through large volumes of code, detect vulnerabilities and speed up security-related activities for attackers and defenders alike. It is relevant not only to wallets, signers and nodes, but also to other open-source technology infrastructure. For Bitcoin AI developers, the requested access would remain controlled, with eligibility conditions rather than unrestricted access.
