Wall Street edged higher on Friday following a technology-driven rally that lifted the Nasdaq in the previous session, while investors turned their attention to the upcoming U. S. market debut of South Korean memory chipmaker SK hynix (SKHYV). On the Middle East front, the U. S. has not carried out any fresh strikes against Iran in recent hours and continues to pursue a diplomatic solution through technical talks, despite the recent escalation. The earnings season will gear up next week with major banks scheduled to report their results. On the economic data front, Monday is relatively light with the June CPI data scheduled for Tuesday. For Wednesday, PPI monthly data for June and crude oil inventories numbers are scheduled. Thursday is slightly packed with the release of June retail sales data, the Philadelphia Fed manufacturing index for July, and initial jobless claims numbers.
